Central Recruitment is working with a prominent national homelessness charity, whose work includes supporting and accommodating young people. Our client is currently recruiting for a Senior Progression Coach to work in the Didsbury and Burnage areas at a service providing support to young people aged 16-25 who are at risk of homelessness.

37.5 hours per week Monday - Friday Shifts: 09:00 - 17:00 with flexibility to occasionally work outside of these hours Temporary: approximately 3 months £18.04 per hour (£15.75 per hour, with £2.29 holiday pay)

Please note: you will work across two services in the Didsbury and Burnage areas and will work one day from home.

Key responsibilities
  • Manage 3 Progression Coaches, ensuring high‑quality assessments, risk management and support plans
  • Deliver 1:1 and group support opportunities within accommodation and the community
  • Support clients to participate in Education, Training, Employment and Volunteering
  • Ensure the health and safety of the environment in line with policy
  • Supervise and support volunteers
  • Liaise with internal departments to ensure effective service delivery
  • Oversee rent collection, petty cash and invoice authorisation
  • Support tenancy sustainment, skills development and planned move‑on
  • Monitor repairs and maintenance to ensure safe accommodation
  • Assist with staff induction and model good practice
  • Maintain compliance with contract, grant and housing management obligations
What we’re looking for
  • Experience working with young people or those who have experienced homelessness, poor mental health, substance use or living in care
  • Experience managing a team of staff
  • An understanding and commitment to working in an assets‑based way
  • Experience using Risk Assessments and Support Planning
  • Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills
  • Good level of experience of operating safeguarding requirements and procedures
Further requirements
  • Current valid right to work in the UK
  • Minimum 12 months' of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise)
  • A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £60)
  • Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process
