Central Recruitment is working with a London-based charity dedicated to preventing homelessness and supporting individuals in rebuilding their lives. Our client is currently recruiting for a TST Caseworker to work across North East London at a service that provides tenancy sustainment and floating support to people aged 18+ who are recovering from homelessness and have a range of support needs.

  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Monday - Friday
  • Shifts: 09:00 - 17:00
  • Temporary: approx. 2 months
  • £17.14 per hour (£15.29 per hour, with £1.85 holiday pay)

Please note: this is a hybrid working role which involves working from the office in King Cross, supporting clients across the community and occasionally working from home. Travel expenses can be claimed. This role involves lone working.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of 25-28 clients, delivering regular keywork sessions
  • Co-produce strengths-based, outcome-focused support, safety, and move-on plans
  • Assess risk and implement management strategies with clients and partner agencies
  • Support clients to reduce debt and maximise income
  • Work with agencies to ensure access to services and accompany clients to appointments
  • Identify and support physical and mental health needs, enabling access to relevant services
  • Encourage participation in work, education, training, and social inclusion activities
  • Deliver group activities, drop-ins, and project-based sessions
  • Report and respond to safeguarding concerns in line with policy and legislation

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience supporting individuals with mental and physical health needs, substance misuse, and social, financial, and tenancy-related challenges
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and risk management
  • Strong understanding of client assessment, onboarding, and move-on planning
  • Knowledge of common health issues and barriers faced by people experiencing homelessness
  • Understanding of housing pathways, including supported housing, private rented, and social housing options
  • Ability to use assessment and support tools, including motivational interviewing and trauma-informed approaches
  • Experience supporting clients with move-in and resettlement to sustain tenancies
  • Ability to motivate individuals towards independence and social inclusion
  • Ability to effectively liaise with a range of service providers and agencies
  • Self-motivated, organised, and able to manage workload under pressure

Further requirements:

  • Current valid right to work in the UK
  • Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise)
  • A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £60)
  • Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process
