The predicted salary is between 24000 - 36000 Β£ per year.
Central Recruitment is currently recruiting for Support Workers to work in various locations across London on an ad hoc basis. You will provide an effective, high quality support service to address the presenting needs of residents in a busy hostel housing men and women with complex and enduring needs in relation to homelessness, substance misuse and related issues (i.e. street activity, mental health).
Responsibilities
- Provide effective day-to-day shift cover that supports the aims of the project, safeguards the residents and provides effective support within a harm minimisation and strengths and recovery framework.
- Work in various shift patterns including earlies, lates, waking nights, and sleep-ins.
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding and support to residents with complex needs.
Requirements / Qualifications
- At least 12 months of paid experience working with homeless adults who have additional needs including substance misuse or mental health needs.
- Ability to cope with customers who display challenging behaviour and an understanding of risks associated with specific service user groups.
- Ability to work flexibly with clients who have a low level of engagement with the service.
- Current valid right to work in the UK.
- Minimum 12 months of paid experience in a frontline social care role within the last 3 years (unless stated otherwise).
- Fully enhanced DBS registered on the DBS update service or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of Β£60).
- Employment or education history covering the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process.
