The Role
This is a great opportunity for someone with an engineering or manufacturing background to move into a commercial, customer-facing role, helping to win and deliver work. You will be responsible for:
- Preparing detailed quotations for machined parts, tooling and assemblies
- Interpreting engineering drawings, CAD models and specifications
- Estimating manufacturing costs including materials, machining, and subcontract processes
- Supporting the sales function in converting enquiries into orders
- Working closely with production, suppliers, and customers
- Building relationships with both new and existing clients
This role is more than quoting, it’s about understanding how parts are made, how to price them competitively, and how to secure business.
What we’re looking for
- Background in engineering or manufacturing (machining, fabrication, tooling, or similar)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and/or CAD
- Good communication skills (written and verbal)
- Commercial awareness or interest in moving into a sales-focused role
- Use of spreadsheets in Excel
- Experience estimating or costing manufactured components
- Knowledge of low-volume / prototype production
- Exposure to automotive, aerospace, defence or motorsport sectors

Package
