About the role
A keen learner, you’ll be excited about trying new things and coaching others in their use. Ideally, you will have a background in Front‑end Development. You’ll realise that modern applications are more than just researching which AWS services and datastores are right for the job and how to orchestrate everything using Terraform. Happiest with a bit of ambiguity, working with product owners and architects to determine the best solution rather than implementing tickets verbatim, you’ll preference maintainability over sophistication. You will take full responsibility for developing and delivering a strategic technological vision and direction for the business, leading and managing a software development team from a technical perspective in an Agile manner. As a Tech Lead you are the singular authority for technical decisions within your autonomous teams. You are part Architect, part Developer, part Manager, but fully awesome.
Essential skills
- 2+ years of experience as a Technical Lead (ideally - Front‑end focused)
- Experience working in an Agile / Scrum environment
- Object‑Oriented Programming
- Rest API's and test‑driven development
- Good understanding of Software design patterns
- Experience of leading / managing a team of engineers
- CI / CD or DevOps environment experience
- Confident communication skills
Desirable skills
- Microservices Architecture
- Experience in Typescript and / Experience with applying TDD / BDD development techniques and ensuring teams adhere to them.
- AWS development, including DynamoDB, Lambda
- Infrastructure as Code
- Event Driven Architectures
