The Scotsman Group is Scotland’s largest and most diverse hospitality group, with a collection of over 40 venues across Scotland including bars, restaurants, hotels and more. We are looking for an experienced and talented HR Business Partner to join our central team where no two days are the same.
The Role
- Give guidance and advice in supporting our obligation towards the duty of care and welfare for our teams to assist in resolving issues that may have an impact on individual or team performance.
- Build the capability of our managers to inspire their teams to deliver; developing confidence, self-sufficiency and the ability to lead in a fast paced and dynamic environment including delivering training courses.
- Develop the understanding and practical application of our performance management framework; from embedding annual, quarterly and new starter performance reviews to developing/mentoring high potential employees via Personal Development Plans and supporting underperformance through improvement plans.
- Plan, deliver and evaluate people development interventions in order to develop management capability in conjunction with the L&D team.
- Provide an advisory service to the Business in order to develop a consistent approach to Employee Relations across the Business.
- Check all correspondence for line managers to ensure that it meets legislative requirements.
- Through working closely with legal support, manage claims/potential claims early and effectively.
- Identify trends and put in place action plans to address areas of concern and minimise risk to the business.
- Monitor, analyse and interpret people metrics and operational KPIs to support Operations management in understanding the people opportunities and risks including monthly reporting on the metrics for the area of responsibility.
The Person
- Sound generalist knowledge of HR, ideally gained in retail, hospitality or a facilities management background.
- Broad knowledge and experience of handling high volume and complex Employee Relations issues.
- Ability to influence/persuade and challenge senior management team.
- Excellent coaching, consultancy, facilitation and presentation skills.
- Strong personal effectiveness and high levels of integrity.
- Ability to identify issues, create/source solutions and make decisions.
- CIPD qualified (or equivalent) preferable, working towards Chartered status.
- Multi-site experience would be an advantage but is not essential.
- Driving license essential.
