We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Dietitian to join our community team, covering Nutrition Support and Gastroenterology. This is a varied and rewarding role for an enthusiastic, self‑motivated dietitian interested in developing their skills and knowledge in these specialist areas.
The gastroenterology role focuses on supporting people with IBS and Coeliac Disease, while the nutrition support role helps people at risk of malnutrition, combining a food‑first approach with the appropriate use of oral nutritional supplements. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams (MDTs), service users, families, carers and care agencies.
Our team works predominantly in a hybrid model, with travel across Hammersmith & Fulham, Westminster and Kensington & Chelsea. The team meets face‑to‑face once a month and virtually each week to support communication, collaboration, team building and staff wellbeing.
We deliver three core workstreams: Nutrition Support, Gastroenterology and Home Enteral Feeding. We are a supportive, innovative team committed to delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based dietetic care, continuously improving services and prioritising staff health and wellbeing.

Main duties of the job
- Provide dietetic assessments and treatment plans for service users via face‑to‑face consultations at health/GP centres, telephone and video consultations, and domiciliary visits.
- Manage a caseload of people with Coeliac Disease, IBS, and those at risk of malnutrition, in line with service standards and under supervision from the Lead Gastroenterology Dietitian.
- Organise and manage your own clinical workload, including administrative tasks, onward referrals, and liaison with MDTs and other services.
- Demonstrate flexibility and teamwork, adapting to service needs and direction from your line manager.
- Accurately record clinical activity in the reporting database and generate regular reports.
- Build and maintain strong networks with GPs, district nurses, care agencies, primary care teams, and other services to facilitate appropriate referrals.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals across primary and secondary care to ensure coordinated, timely, and person‑centred care.
- Deliver education and training sessions for internal and external stakeholders, as required by the service.

Education/Qualification
- Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics
- Health Care Professions Council Registration
- Member of the British Dietetic Association
- Member of a relevant Specialist Group
Experience
- Experience in a range of clinical areas including nutrition support, food fortification, the appropriate prescribing of oral nutrition supplements, irritable bowel syndrome and coeliac disease.
- Experience of managing patients requiring nutrition support with other nutrition related diseases such as diabetes, malnutrition, progressive neurological conditions.
- Experience in delivering group education/teaching with patients and/or health care professionals.
- Experience in the training of student dietitians.
- Experience in conducting audits, QI and/or research.
- Experience in using behaviour change techniques.
- Experience in contributing to policy, procedures, guidelines and clinical standards development.
- Understanding the importance of effective multidisciplinary working.
- Experience of working in a community dietetic team.
Skills & Knowledge
- Ability to apply core Dietetic skills across a range of clinical conditions including the assessment and treatment of patients with nutrition related disease.
- Advanced skills in the assessment and treatment of clients with nutrition related disease.
- Ability to problem solve, prioritise, and demonstrate clinical reasoning.
- Ability to communicate complex medical and Dietetic information in sensitive and easily understandable language.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with people from a variety of backgrounds e.g., via advocacy/interpreters.
- Able to collect, analyse and report/present on clinical data for example audit, Quality Improvement and/or research.
