Are you interested in developing your strategic skills, knowledge, and experience in safeguarding? An opportunity has arisen to take on a strategic leadership role working in the Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust safeguarding team. This role supports the Associate Director of Safeguarding in delivering high quality safeguarding assurance across the organisation, in line with local and national legislation and guidance. Working across both child and adult safeguarding, the post holder will collaborate with internal and external partners to promote safe, effective practice. We welcome applicants who are developing their safeguarding expertise and will provide support to build skills and confidence in specialist areas.

The post holder will act as deputy to the Associate Director of Safeguarding when required, provide line management to the Named Nurses/Professionals within the South Safeguarding Hub, and lead hub meetings to ensure strong team culture, effective communication, and smooth operational delivery. This role also includes co-chairing the joint safeguarding hub meeting with the Head of Safeguarding for the North Hub, contributing to the delivery of the safeguarding workplan, and supporting the oversight of safeguarding workstreams. Outputs from these workstreams are reported quarterly to the CLCH Safeguarding Committee.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deputise for the Associate Director of Safeguarding when required, including supporting delegated work and representing the safeguarding function at key internal and external meetings.
  • Provide line management to Named Nurses/Professionals within the South Safeguarding Hub, fostering a positive, inclusive, and collaborative team environment.
  • Lead South Hub team meetings, ensuring effective communication, shared learning, and coordinated delivery of safeguarding priorities.
  • Co-chair the joint safeguarding hub meeting with the Head of Safeguarding for the North Hub, contributing to assurance processes and the delivery of the safeguarding workplan.
  • Support the appointment and oversight of safeguarding workstream leads, reviewing progress and ensuring outputs are aligned with organisational priorities and reported to the CLCH Safeguarding Committee.
  • Ensure appropriate representation at Local Safeguarding Children Partnership (LSCP) and Safeguarding Adult Board (SAB) sub group meetings, either through Named Nurses/Professionals or the Head of Safeguarding.
  • Attend LSCP and SAB board meetings on behalf of the Associate Director of Safeguarding when required.
