We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity to join our large, professional and welcoming Community and Specialist Dental Service. Working as part of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in providing high-quality dental care for children referred to the service. You will be supported by experienced Paediatric Specialists and Senior Paediatric Dentists, with opportunities to develop your clinical skills, contribute to excellent patient outcomes and help deliver compassionate, patient-centred care to children and their families from diverse backgrounds. Responsibilities:

  • Undertake comprehensive examination, assessment and diagnosis of patients, ensuring care is tailored to individual needs.
  • Develop, implement and review appropriate treatment plans and ongoing care management for a range of patients.
  • Plan, deliver and evaluate interventions that promote oral health, prevent disease and support positive health outcomes.
  • Recognise commonly occurring medical emergencies and lead the dental team in providing appropriate immediate management using relevant techniques, equipment and medications.
  • Use appropriate local anaesthetic techniques and patient-centred approaches to manage pain, anxiety and comfort during treatment.
  • Provide sedation where clinically indicated and within the scope of practice and service requirements.
  • Carry out routine exodontias and simple surgical exodontias as appropriate.
  • Assess patients to identify when specialist advice, referral or multidisciplinary input is required.
  • Undertake appropriate investigations to support the assessment and management of the developing dentition and determine the need for specialist intervention.
  • Diagnose dental conditions and provide effective restorative treatment, including the restoration and replacement of teeth using appropriate techniques.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, patients, families and carers to deliver safe, effective, and equitable care.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment that values diversity and promotes excellent patient experience.
