An exciting opportunity has arisen for x2 motivated and skilled Band 6 Specialist Podiatrists to join our CLCH Podiatry Service within the Inner North West Division, Inner Community Sites. We are offering the Enhanced Clinical Practitioner apprenticeship a funded, Level 6 postgraduate qualification. Key points:
- Funded through the apprenticeship levy, not self-funded
- Around 18 months, delivered as blended learning (online + in person)
- Some universities offer a podiatry-specific version (Coventry University is one example)
- Needs HCPC registration and two years' post-qualification experience, and the Trust's support to take it on.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a podiatrist who is looking to develop their specialist clinical skills while working as part of a supportive, experienced and forward-thinking community podiatry team. You will provide high-quality care to patients with a wide range of medical and podiatric needs, including those identified asat risk and high risk, while supporting seamless care across community, primary care and specialist services. As part of the role, you will participate in CLCH's Band 6 rotational programme, gaining experience across areas such asbiomechanics, wound care and nail surgery clinics. You will autonomously assess, diagnose and treat patients, develop tailored treatment plans and support patients and carers with education, self-care and agreed care outcomes.,
- Autonomously assess, diagnose and treat patients with a wide range of medical and podiatric conditions, including those with at-risk and high-risk foot needs.
- Develop and deliver tailored treatment and specialist care plans, using appropriate treatment options to support safe and effective patient care.
- Participate in the Band 6 rotational programme, including specialist clinical areas such as biomechanics, wound care and nail surgery clinics.
- Triage new referrals, identify urgent or high-risk cases and prioritise treatment appropriately.
- Deliver care across a range of community settings, including clinics and patients' own homes.
- Work collaboratively with GP practices, community nursing, tissue viability, diabetes, vascular, social care and wider MDT services to support coordinated patient care.
- Provide advice, education and health promotion to patients, carers, colleagues and other healthcare professionals.
- Support service development through clinical governance, audit, supervision, mentoring, policy development and continuous improvement activity.
