The University of Law Business School provides industry accredited degrees (CMI, CIM, APM and ACCA) including Business Management, Marketing, Law and Accounting. Designed specifically with employability in mind. We are currently looking for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer to join our academic team in our centrally located Birmingham campus. This is a Fixed term contract for 12 months. We are looking to hear particularly from applicants with a specialism in Marketing. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in Harvard Case Method and online simulation.
Reporting to our Academic Manager, you will be providing tuition across the University of Law Business School course portfolio, delivering postgraduate and undergraduate BSc courses to a high standard. You will be challenged by students and course content and be able to adapt to the different learning styles of students and methods of course delivery. You will be eager to share your expertise, and the role will include marking in-course assignments and final assessments, as well as supporting students and dealing with queries.
Responsibilities- Teach and assess across The University of Law Business School course portfolio in such subjects as may be assigned to you, including teaching and assessing students across a range of written and presentation skills and giving individual feedback on students’ performances.
- Assist in the preparation of assignments and assessments.
- Participate in course design and review.
- Act as an academic coach to students, being available and willing to discuss students’ problems as they arise, and support their performance and academic progression.
- Master’s degree (in Business and/or Management) or professional qualifications.
- Teaching in a Higher Education setting or an educational establishment.
- Flexibility to teach across a range of different subjects.
- Punctual, professional and committed to teaching.
- For Senior Lecturers – Fellowship of the HEA and Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PgCHE) as well as extensive relevant experience.
- Please note that if you do not currently have or are not undertaking a PgCHE or an equivalent qualification, it is a requirement that you enrol into the programme (delivered and financially supported by the University) within 12 months of passing probation.
- You will have developed significant expertise in the application and practical delivery of a range of teaching techniques, pastoral care, mentoring colleagues, assessments and marking, and team leadership.
On top of a salary of Lecturer £40,500 – £42,500 and Senior Lecturer £49,000 – £54,000 you will enjoy: Private Medical Scheme and Life Assurance, Contributory Pension Scheme, Training and Qualifications (including Course Sponsorship/Fee Discount), Season Ticket Loans and Student Discounts.
