The University of Law Business School provides industry accredited degrees (CMI, CIM, APM, CIPD and ACCA) including Business Management, Marketing, HR, Finance and Accounting, designed specifically with employability in mind. We are currently looking for Lecturer/Senior Lecturers to join our academic team in our centrally located Birmingham campus.
We are looking to hear from applicants with specialisms including: Data, Cyber Security, Business Analytics, Quantitative, Project Management, HRM, Management & General Business skills ideally from the Higher Education sector. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in Harvard Case Method and online simulation.
Reporting to our Academic Manager, you will be providing tuition across the University of Law Business School course portfolio. This will include delivering postgraduate and undergraduate BSc courses to a high standard. You will enjoy being challenged (by students and course content in equal measure) and be able to adapt to the different learning styles of students and methods of course delivery. You will be eager to share your expertise, and the role will include marking in-course assignments and final assessments, as well as supporting students and dealing with queries.
Responsibilities:- Teach and assess across The University of Law Business School course portfolio in such subjects as may be assigned to you.
- Assist in the preparation of assignments and assessments.
- Participate in course design and review.
- Act as an academic coach to students, including being available and willing to discuss students’ problems as they arise, their performance and academic progression.
- Master’s degree (in Business and/or Management) or professional qualifications.
- For Senior Lecturers – Fellowship of the HEA and Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PgCHE) as well as extensive relevant experience.
- Teaching in a Higher Education setting or an educational establishment.
- Flexibility to teach across a range of different subjects.
- Punctual, professional and committed to teaching.
Note: For Senior Lecturers you will have developed significant expertise in: application and practical delivery of a range of teaching techniques, pastoral care, mentoring colleagues, assessments and marking, team leadership.
Please note that if you do not currently have/are not undertaking a PgCHE or an equivalent qualification, it is a requirement that you will enrol into the programme (delivered and financially supported by the University), within 12 months of passing probation.
