Overview

Co‑operation is central to ensuring our stores thrive. As a Team Leader you will support, develop and manage an exceptional team, leading the ways of working for new colleagues and helping them achieve growth. You will ensure customers receive the best experience and maintain strong relationships with members and the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage performance: conduct reviews and address poor performance.
  • Ensure colleagues adhere to Society policies and procedures.
  • Take responsibility for the store’s financial performance and compliance.
  • Manage absence, including back‑to‑work interviews and improvement meetings.
  • Understand scheduling and productivity to optimise staffing.
  • Ensure colleagues are trained and records are maintained.
  • Communicate key messages and priorities to the team.
  • Prioritise tasks to maximise sales opportunities and meet customer expectations.
  • Lead change initiatives.
  • Ensure all colleagues work within health and safety guidelines and maintain a safe environment.
  • Oversee day‑to‑day running of the store.

Training

Begin with a comprehensive 4‑week training at one of our Difference Maker Academies, paired with an experienced Academy Mentor. The program equips you with essential skills for long‑term success.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous Supervisor, Team Leader or Duty Manager experience in a customer‑service environment.
  • Enthusiasm, initiative, ability to work at pace and with flexibility.
  • Ownership of development, ability to coach and grow great talent.
  • Open‑mindedness and curiosity about current and future promotions.
  • Capability to identify growth opportunities and propose improvements that benefit store operations, delivery and commercial success.
  • A warm, friendly, and respectful team player who builds relationships to get things done.
