We are looking for an experienced Laravel developer who enjoys getting hands on with complex systems and wants to help shape the next stage of our platform's evolution. The role involves taking a long standing application and guiding its transition from a single codebase into a more scalable, service driven structure. This position suits someone who is comfortable working independently, enjoys solving open ended technical challenges and wants real influence over how things are built. You'll work closely with senior technical leadership while still owning delivery of key features.
What you’ll be doing:
- Designing and delivering new Laravel based services as part of a shift toward a distributed architecture
- Helping to break apart the existing monolithic system, suggesting approaches and contributing to design decisions
- Taking responsibility for major features from initial idea through to deployment
- Spotting areas of technical debt and improving the overall health of the codebase
- Enhancing background jobs, queues and asynchronous processes
- Building meaningful observability into your work including logs, metrics and performance insight
- Increasing test coverage by adding PHPUnit tests to new and reworked areas
- Working closely with QA, Product and DevOps to ensure smooth and reliable releases
- Supporting frontend development when needed, including Blade and Livewire components
- Sharing knowledge through code reviews and day to day collaboration
- Keeping up to date with the Laravel ecosystem and applying new techniques when beneficial
What we’re looking for:
- Strong hands on experience with modern PHP and Laravel
- Proven experience building or maintaining microservice style systems in production
- Solid understanding of MySQL, Redis and queue based workflows
