Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 + Company Car/Car Allowance + Bonus
About the Company
Our client is a well-established specialist subcontractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality wall and floor tiling solutions across commercial, residential, healthcare, education and public sector projects.
Operating throughout the UK, they work alongside leading main contractors and developers, providing expert tiling installations on projects ranging from schools, healthcare facilities, retail and commercial buildings. Known for their quality, reliability and long-standing client relationships, the business continues to secure repeat work and is now looking to strengthen its operational team with the appointment of an experienced Contracts Manager.
The Role
Reporting to senior management, you will be responsible for overseeing multiple projects across the North East, typically ranging from £1m to £2m in value. You will ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards. This is a client-facing role requiring strong organisational skills, commercial awareness and the ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously from pre-start through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee multiple tiling and interior finishing projects across the North East.
- Manage contracts from pre-construction through to final handover.
- Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and client stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
- Monitor programme performance and resolve operational challenges.
- Conduct regular site visits and progress meetings.
- Manage labour, materials and project resources effectively.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
- Provide regular operational and project updates to senior management.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within the construction industry.
- Ideally from a specialist subcontractor background.
- Experience managing multiple live projects simultaneously.
- Strong organisational, communication and leadership skills.
- Commercially aware with experience managing budgets and programme delivery.
- Ability to build lasting client relationships.
- SMSTS and CSCS preferred.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
