Central Employment are working with a leading North East and now global eCommerce Retailer, as they look to appoint a Head of Digital, to drive further online growth, executing their eCommerce performance marketing strategy.
This leadership role bridges technical expertise and commercial insight to deliver a best-in-class digital shopping experience. You'll own the online P&L, define and deliver the eCommerce roadmap, and lead a high-performing team to drive digital revenue, customer retention, and market expansion across all brands.
Responsibilities of the Head of Digital:- Lead the eCommerce function across all websites and digital platforms, aligning trading strategy with broader business goals and growth ambitions.
- Lead the planning, execution, and optimisation of performance marketing campaigns, including paid search, paid social, affiliate, and display, to drive traffic, acquisition, and revenue.
- Define the ecommerce roadmap, prioritising customer experience, conversion optimisation, and operational efficiency.
- Drive continual improvement of the user journey across website and app, working closely with UX/UI, development, and creative teams to optimise performance and functionality.
- Own all ecommerce KPIs including online sales, conversion rates, bounce rates, AOV, LTV, and customer acquisition cost.
- Build, lead and develop high-performing marketing and digital teams, fostering cross-functional collaboration and a results-driven culture.
- Oversee platform management (e.g. Shopify), ensuring integrations, plugins and third-party tools are delivering ROI and improving site performance.
- Collaborate with Buying & Merchandising to align product strategy with site trading and optimise category performance.
- Partner with Marketing to implement campaign activity across digital channels, ensuring ecommerce alignment on promotions, messaging, and customer experience.
- Manage key external partnerships with developers, performance marketing agencies, CRO and SEO specialists.
- Lead digital analytics and reporting, driving data-led decision making and continuous improvement.
- Identify growth opportunities in emerging markets, platforms or customer segments, bringing an innovative mindset to ecommerce expansion.
- Ensure compliance with relevant digital commerce regulations and champion best practice in data privacy, accessibility and security.
- Proficient in eCommerce platforms and content management systems.
- Operated within a high growth eCommerce, DTC setting at Head of Growth/Performance.
- Knowledge of digital marketing techniques, specifically Paid Media channels.
- Experience in using analytics tools like Google Analytics.
- Familiarity with A/B testing and conversion rate optimisation tools.
- Understanding of data privacy and consumer protection regulations relevant to e-commerce.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
