A leading industrial and manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced HSE Coordinator to join their Consett site. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental, health, and safety programs, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company policies. They will play a key role in fostering a culture of safety, reducing site risks, and supporting sustainable operational practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice to senior management on health and safety legislation and updates.
  • Ensure all employees, contractors, and visitors adhere to safety policies and legislative requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments, site inspections, and recommend improvements to minimize risks.
  • Oversee accident reporting and incident investigations in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate and deliver health and safety training programs, including First Aid, Fire Marshall, ROSPA, IOSH, and Forklift certification.
  • Lead and coordinate site H&S meetings, audits, and liaise with regulatory authorities as required.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO 45001 and 14001 standards, reporting performance to top management and supporting internal audits.

Candidate Requirements:

  • NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma (Level 3 or above) or equivalent occupational H&S qualification.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ recent experience in a lead H&S role within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory, legal, and technical H&S requirements.
  • Proficient in MS Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Full UK driving license preferred.
