We’re supporting a well-established and evolving organisation within a regulated, commercial environment to recruit a Commercial Accountant. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-paced finance team, working at the heart of trading and regulatory activity, where you’ll play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting and driving commercial insight.

The Role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you’ll support a wide range of financial activities, combining technical accounting with commercial awareness. You’ll gain exposure to regulatory reporting, trading-related finance, and stakeholder engagement across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day finance operations, including transaction processing, reconciliations, and supplier invoice validation
  • Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely financial reporting, including management and statutory outputs
  • Contribute to regulatory reporting and industry scheme submissions, ensuring compliance with relevant requirements
  • Support external audit processes, including preparation of data and responding to audit queries
  • Analyse financial data and supplier-related obligations to support business decision-making
  • Assist with month-end close processes and forecasting activities
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders across finance and the wider business
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, governance frameworks, and audit processes

About You

  • Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA preferred)
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge with a good understanding of financial reporting
  • Experience in a commercial or management accounting role
  • Confident working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and build relationships
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities

Desirable

  • Experience within a regulated or complex industry (e.g. utilities, financial services, or similar)
  • Exposure to audit processes and regulatory reporting
