Central Employment are working with a multi-service Professional Services organisation, as they look to recruit a Business Development Manager, joining their established Marketing & BD team in Newcastle.

Base pay range

Circa £45,000 + hybrid working, 3 days in office, part of an award winning Professional Services firm.

Business Development Manager profile:

To drive the firm’s expansion and revenue growth by strategically identifying and capitalising on new business opportunities.

Main responsibilities

  • To assist in the development and delivery of the firm’s and the individual departmental strategic business development plans and ensure that the business development objectives support the delivery of these plans.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, understanding their legal needs, and identifying opportunities for cross-selling or upselling legal services.
  • Support client relationship partners in managing client relationships and in promoting growth in our key sector areas.
  • Proactively engage with clients to identify new business opportunities and foster long-term relationships.
  • Proactively work with partners and fee-earners on structured client development, including targeting and developing relationships with clients, taking formal responsibility as the Business Development lead on client and work winning matters.
  • Assist partners and fee-earners with client opportunities, for example background research, participating in meetings where appropriate and tracking opportunities.

Experience required

  • Experience of working in a legal or professional services environment would be preferable, or a B2B service led industry
  • Experience of managing and writing tenders and bids.
  • Proven ability to identify, develop, and convert business development opportunities.
  • In-depth experience and demonstrable track record of being set, meeting and exceeding financial targets and goals, performing within set and prescribed KPIs.
