An established organisation is seeking a reliable and experienced Accounts Assistant to join its Head Office finance team based in Gateshead. This hands-on position supports the day-to-day running of the finance function within a friendly and supportive working environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining accurate bookkeeping and financial records
  • Completing bank reconciliations and posting journals
  • Processing payroll using Sage 50 Payroll
  • Managing purchase ledger and sales ledger tasks
  • Supporting general accounting activities as required

Requirements

  • Experience using Sage 50 Accounts
  • Experience using Sage 50 Payroll
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent organisation skills and a high level of accuracy
  • Formal accounting qualifications are not required

Desirable Experience

  • Knowledge of stock control or EPOS systems
  • Experience within a retail or multi-site environment
