Central Employment are recruiting Steel Manufacturing Operatives on behalf of our client, a well-established, employee-focused manufacturer and steel processing specialist operating from a large, modern facility in Thirsk. They pride themselves on quality, safety, and continuous investment in training and development. Location: Thirsk, North Yorkshire

Hours: Monday to Thursday: 6:00pm – 6:00am (Night Shift)

Pay: £16.62 per hour includes £2.70 per hour shift allowance

Overtime: Time and a half after 40 hours (up to 50 hours), double time after 50 hours

The Role: You’ll join a busy operations team supporting production and despatch. Duties include:

  • Picking and preparing stock to job sheets
  • Operating saws, drills, and other machinery (training provided)
  • Assisting with shotblast/paint line and loading vehicles
  • Safe use of overhead cranes and forklift trucks (training available)
  • Following strict health & safety and quality procedures

What We’re Looking For:

  • Reliable, enthusiastic team player
  • Previous warehouse or industrial experience helpful but not essential
  • Ideally, you will come from a steel or heavy manufacturing background, with hands-on experience operating saws and confidently using a range of hand and power tools in a fast-paced production environment
  • Willingness to learn and progress through multi-skilled training
  • FLT licence is an advantage, although full in-house training (including sideloader) is provided
