FLT Driver (Counterbalance)

Peterlee | £12.71 per hour | Monday to Friday | Immediate Start | Temp to Perm

Central Employment are currently recruiting for an experienced FLT Driver to join a busy and well-established operation based in Peterlee. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and motivated individual looking for long-term work with the potential to secure a permanent position after a successful probation period.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday
  • 10:00am - 7:00pm
  • Two 30-minute unpaid breaks
  • No weekend working

The Role

You’ll be responsible for supporting the day-to-day warehouse and yard operations, ensuring products are moved safely and efficiently while maintaining high standards of accuracy and health & safety.

Duties Include:

  • Operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck safely and efficiently
  • Loading and unloading vehicles
  • Moving stock, materials, and products throughout the site
  • Assisting with stock rotation and inventory control
  • Picking and preparing orders for dispatch
  • Supporting general warehouse and yard duties
  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment
  • Working closely with colleagues to achieve daily operational targets

What We’re Looking For

  • Valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence
  • Previous experience operating a Counterbalance FLT within a warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics environment
  • Strong awareness of health and safety procedures
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy
  • Reliable, punctual, and hardworking approach
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
