Our client is a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Prudhoe, supplying high-quality engineered products to customers across a range of industries.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a Sales Estimator to join their commercial & procurement team on a permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and detail-oriented individual with experience in estimating, sales support, manufacturing, engineering, or production environments.

The Role

As a Sales Estimator, you will be responsible for reviewing customer enquiries, calculating manufacturing costs, and producing accurate quotations.

Working closely with customers, suppliers, and internal departments, you will ensure quotations are commercially competitive whilst maintaining profitability.

You will play a key role in converting enquiries into orders by delivering excellent customer service and following up on submitted quotations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review customer enquiries, specifications, and technical drawings.
  • Calculate production costs including materials, labour, machining, and subcontract processes.
  • Prepare accurate and competitive quotations for customers.
  • Source material and component pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Negotiate with external vendors to secure the best pricing on raw materials and manufactured parts.
  • Analyse manufacturing processes to determine accurate production costs and lead times.
  • Follow up submitted quotations and maintain regular communication with customers.
  • Work closely with production and engineering teams to ensure quotations are achievable.
  • Maintain quotation records and update company systems accordingly.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the estimating process.
