Supplying into fast-paced and technically demanding industries, this organisation is seeking a Production Planner to play a key role in coordinating manufacturing activity and ensuring on‑time customer delivery. The Role
As Production Planner, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining production schedules that balance customer demand, material availability and manufacturing capacity. You’ll work cross‑functionally to ensure plans are realistic, visible and aligned across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain production schedules in line with customer demand and business priorities
- Translate customer orders and project requirements into achievable manufacturing plans
- Work closely with Production, Engineering and Supply Chain teams to ensure alignment and delivery
- Monitor material availability, capacity constraints and work‑in‑progress levels
- Identify risks to delivery or schedule adherence and escalate where required
- Support daily/weekly planning reviews, providing clear updates on priorities and progress
- Maintain accurate data within ERP/MRP systems, including lead times, order status and scheduling updates
- Support new product introduction (NPI), engineering changes and ramp‑up activity
- Contribute to continuous improvement across planning processes and operational performance
- Ensure clear communication across departments to maintain alignment on priorities
About You
- Experience in production planning, scheduling, supply chain planning or materials control
- Background within manufacturing, engineering or a technical production environment
- Strong understanding of production flow, capacity planning and materials management
- Proficient in ERP/MRP systems and confident working with planning data
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
- Confident communicator with the ability to engage stakeholders across different functions
- Proactive and solutions‑focused, with the ability to identify and manage risks
Desirable Experience
- Exposure to advanced or high‑spec manufacturing environments
- Experience in low‑volume, high‑complexity production
- Involvement in NPI or engineering change processes
- Relevant supply chain or planning qualifications (e.g. APICS, CIPS)
