Our client is looking for a Machinist to join their Works Services Team in Scarborough. Whether you\’re experienced or have a solid grounding in engineering and machining techniques like milling or grinding, this is a fantastic opportunity to learn, grow, and work in a well-equipped, practical environment β€” all while enjoying a consistent dayshift schedule.

What You\’ll Be Doing

  • Maintaining, repairing, and modifying press tools to keep production running efficiently

  • Manufacturing precision components to exact customer specifications

  • Diagnosing and resolving faults with tooling and machinery

  • Managing spare parts and materials stock

  • Supporting the design and fabrication of new tools

  • Operating a range of toolroom equipment including mills, lathes, drills, grinders, and wire eroders

  • Following all health & safety procedures and reporting hazards

  • Assisting with machine breakdown investigations and contributing to ongoing improvements

  • Sharing knowledge and helping train less experienced team members

What We\’re Looking For

  • Engineering or machining experience β€” whether you\’re early in your career or more established, we want to hear from you

  • Ideally, experience with press tools or CNC/power press operations

  • Confidence using toolroom machinery and precision measuring tools

  • Ability to interpret 2D or 3D engineering drawings (training can be provided)

  • A practical, hands-on approach with a focus on quality and safety

  • Good problem-solving skills and a team-player mindset
