An established organisation within the high-technology communications sector is seeking a skilled Contracts & Compliance Manager to support its expanding legal and governance function. The company develops advanced electronic solutions used in critical communication systems worldwide and works closely with major technology partners in a fast-moving, innovation-driven environment. Reporting into senior legal leadership, this role serves as a key advisor to the business. You will oversee the full spectrum of contractual activity while helping to strengthen compliance practices and governance structures across the organisation. The position requires balancing legal risk, commercial considerations, and operational needs across a diverse stakeholder landscape.
Main Responsibilities
- Contract Management
- Oversee the complete lifecycle of commercial agreements, including drafting, negotiating, reviewing, executing, and renewing contracts.
- Create, update, and maintain standardised templates, terms, and clause libraries.
- Provide guidance on contractual obligations, risk exposure, and commercial impact.
- Track performance indicators, deadlines, and compliance requirements associated with contracts.
- Identify opportunities to streamline contract processes and enhance internal systems.
- Experience with government or defence contracting frameworks such as UK DEFCONs or US FAR/DFARS is advantageous.
- Compliance & Governance
- Monitor regulatory updates and legal changes relevant to business operations.
- Conduct compliance audits, risk assessments, and internal reviews.
- Support the creation, rollout, and maintenance of corporate policies.
- Deliver training and practical advice to teams on compliance issues.
- Assist with internal investigations and incident management activities.
- Export Control (Desirable)
- Support adherence to export control and sanctions requirements across UK, EU, and US jurisdictions.
About You
You are a commercially aware professional with a solid background in contracts, compliance, or a related legal discipline. You work confidently with stakeholders at all levels and bring sound judgement to decision-making. You will bring:
- Significant experience in contracts management, compliance, or both.
- Strong understanding of contract law and regulatory frameworks.
- A legal or comparable professional qualification.
- Experience gained within a technology-focused or regulated industry.
- Excellent drafting, communication, and negotiation abilities.
- A proactive approach and a solutions-driven mindset.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, especially when managing competing priorities.
Desirable: Experience with defence, government, or public-sector contracting environments. Familiarity with export controls and related regulations.
