A growing organisation is seeking a hands-on and commercially minded Finance Manager to support the business on an initial 12-month FTC, with a chance of becoming permanent. This role is ideal for an experienced finance professional who can balance operational accounting with strategic insight and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce accurate monthly management accounts and financial reports.
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, cashflow reporting, and variance analysis.
  • Provide data-driven insight and recommendations to senior leaders.
  • Work closely with operational and commercial teams across the business.
  • Present financial information to non-finance stakeholders in a clear, meaningful way.
  • Maintain robust financial controls and ensure compliance with UK accounting standards.
  • Support the year-end audit and liaise with external auditors.
  • Oversee VAT, tax submissions, and statutory reporting.
  • Support, mentor, and develop junior finance team members (if applicable).
  • Lead by example and promote a collaborative, high-performance culture.
  • Identify efficiencies and drive improvements across finance processes and reporting.
  • Support system upgrades or finance transformation projects.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or QBE with strong relevant experience.
  • Prior experience in a similar Finance Manager or Senior Accountant role.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and reporting capability.
  • Excellent Excel skills and familiarity with modern ERP/accounting systems.
  • Confident communicator with strong business partnering skills.
