Quality Control Technician – Food Manufacturing
Location: South Tyneside
Salary: £26,353.60 per annum (£12.67 per hour)
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, Day shift - With the occasional back-shift.
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Control Technician to join a well-established food manufacturing business based in South Tyneside. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring product safety, compliance, and consistency across all production lines. This position focuses strongly on document control, record-keeping, and quality assurance practices, making it an excellent opportunity for someone with a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine quality checks across raw materials, production processes, and finished products.
- Maintain accurate and compliant documentation in line with industry and company standards.
- Ensure adherence to HACCP, GMP, and site-specific quality procedures.
- Support internal and external audits through meticulous record-keeping and process compliance.
- Investigate non-conformances and assist in implementing corrective actions.
- Work closely with production teams to uphold site quality standards.
About You
- Previous experience in a food manufacturing quality control or quality assurance role.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- Confidence in handling documentation, quality records, and audit preparation.
- Knowledge of HACCP, BRC, or similar food safety standards (desirable but not essential).
- Ability to work effectively across both shifts on a weekly rotation.
