Cambridge Full-Time Remote
C

We are Central East ICB, the new organisation entrusted with serving more than 3.5 million people across Bedfordshire, Luton, Milton Keynes, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough and Hertfordshire.

We are responsible for making sure that the NHS can continue to support our community – now, and in the future. Everything we do will be guided by our core purpose: to do what best serves the population of this area.

We promise to focus on what makes the biggest difference to people’s lives – acting earlier to help prevent illness and detect disease and making it easier for our community to get the health care they need, closer to home, whenever that’s possible.

If you need support with the application process, please contact our People Team at [email protected].

Job overview

As an Administrator in Central East’s System Coordination Centre (SCC), you will help keep a busy NHS team organised, informed and connected, supporting its work to coordinate services and maintain safe patient care.

The SCC works with hospitals, ambulance services and other partners across Central East to understand pressures and support practical responses. Your administrative support will help ensure information is accurate, meetings run smoothly and actions are recorded and followed up.

We are looking for someone who is organised, approachable and reliable, with good communication skills and attention to detail. You will be comfortable using digital systems, managing competing tasks and asking for support when priorities change.

You will join a supportive team where your contribution matters. Whether you are minuting meetings, arranging a system call or preparing information for colleagues, your work will help the SCC respond promptly and effectively.

This role is home-based, with occasional travel to ICB offices across the Central East area. The SCC operates from 8am to 6pm, seven days a week, and your working pattern will be agreed within these service hours.

Advert

You will provide administrative support that helps the SCC run smoothly:

  • Keep information accurate: collect and enter information from partner organisations, update records and highlight missing or inconsistent information to colleagues.

  • Support meetings and calls: arrange meetings, circulate papers, record key points and actions, and send reminders to support follow-up.

  • Help communication flow: monitor shared inboxes, respond to routine enquiries and pass information promptly to the appropriate colleague.

  • Maintain clear records: keep contact lists, action logs, shared files and other team records organised and up to date.

  • Support reporting: bring together information for situation reports and briefings, using agreed templates and checking accuracy.

  • Support the team during busy periods: provide timely administrative assistance during increased service pressures, escalating urgent queries or concerns to the SCC manager.

  • Improve everyday processes: suggest practical improvements to administrative tasks and support colleagues to use shared systems consistently.

Working for our organisation

We are committed to promoting equal opportunities to achieve equity of access, experience and outcomes and to recognising and valuing people’s differences. We are passionate about creating an inclusive workplace that promotes and values diversity; we see this as a strength and part of our founding mission, values and behaviours. We welcome and encourage applications from all areas of the community, who meet the criteria for the role, regardless of their protected characteristic. We work to ensure that our recruitment processes are as inclusive as possible to everyone, including making adjustments for people who have a disability or long-term condition and support with the recruitment process for people with lived experience.

We are happy to discuss flexible working options for all roles.

We operate a Carer friendly working environment that is supportive and inclusive. We actively encourage Carers to self-identify themselves.

We are a Disability Confident Employer and commit to shortlisting suitable applicants who meet the essential criteria for an interview. Please inform us of any adjustments you may require.
