About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to develop your Business Analysis skills within a supportive and experienced team.
Working alongside Business Analysts, project teams and service areas across the council, you’ll help identify opportunities for improvement, gather requirements and support the delivery of change initiatives.
You’ll gain exposure to a wide range of services and projects while building your knowledge of Business Analysis tools, techniques and best practice.
What you'll do
- Support requirements gathering activities with stakeholders to understand business needs and challenges.
- Assist in analysing business processes and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Help document clear actionable requirement specifications, processes and workflows
- Produce high-quality project documentation aligned to our Quality and Standards.
- Assist with facilitation of workshops, meetings and stakeholder discussions.
- Assist with research, options analysis and the development of recommendations.
- Work closely with colleagues across the council to support change and transformation initiatives.
- Help monitor and evaluate the benefits of implemented changes.
- Develop your knowledge of Business Analysis methodologies, tools and techniques through practical experience and training.
- Provide support to projects by clarifying requirements and helping ensure solutions meet business needs.
About you
We’re looking for someone who is curious and analytical who wants to develop their existing Business Analysis career further.
You must have at least one year Business Analysis professional experience, or have recently completed an Apprenticeship in Business Analysis.

- Hold a recognised Business Analysis qualification such as the BCS Foundation Certificate in Business Analysis or have completed an Apprenticeship in Business Analysis.
- Have professional experience within a Business Analysis function.
- Possess strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Are comfortable gathering and interpreting information from a variety of sources.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Can build positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Are organised, proactive and keen to continue to learn and develop.
- Are confident using Microsoft 365 applications and digital collaboration tools.
- Have experience of working in a customer-focused, administrative, project support or analytical role.
- Experience within local government or the public sector would be beneficial but is not essential.
