As an Environmental Health Officer or Technical Officer within the housing service, you will be supporting the continuous improvement of the private housing sector across Central Bedfordshire. Private Sector Housing includes Housing Assistance (grants and loans), housing enforcement, and the licensing team.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have a broad and complex caseload and will represent the service in a multidisciplinary team, being responsible for undertaking all PSH functions to ensure our residents are living in safe and healthy homes.

Your role will cover the whole remit of PSH enforcement functions, focusing on:

  • All Renters Rights Act
  • Illegal evictions
  • HHSRS
  • HMO Licensing
  • Public Health including Filthy and Verminous premises
  • Prevention of Damage by Pests
  • Some Stat Nuisance
Qualifications

Experience in housing enforcement, public health, HMO licensing, court and tribunal attendance, and demonstrate you have experience working as a Housing Enforcement Officer.
