About the Role
We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Maths to join our English & Maths department at The Bedford College Group.
Responsibilities
- Teaching & Learning Delivery β Plan and deliver high-quality, inclusive Maths lessons across various levels, supporting learner achievement and progression.
- Curriculum & Quality Development β Contribute to curriculum innovation and quality assurance processes, aligning provision with national priorities and learner needs.
- Learner Support & Engagement β Provide tutorials, feedback, and pastoral care to promote wellbeing, independent learning, and positive behaviour and attendance.
- Collaboration & Compliance β Work with colleagues and external partners to enhance employability outcomes, while promoting safeguarding, EDI, and health & safety.
- Professional Practice & Leadership β Maintain professional competence, support new staff, lead curriculum areas if qualified, and participate in college-wide initiatives.
About You
- Essential Qualifications β Relevant degree or Level 5 in Maths, teaching qualification (CertEd/PGCE or willingness to achieve), and GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above).
- Teaching Experience & Knowledge β Recent experience teaching GCSE Maths, understanding of FE reform and safeguarding, and success in supporting diverse learners to achieve.
- Skills & Competencies β Strong communication, classroom management, lesson planning, and ICT proficiency including Microsoft 365 and digital platforms.
- Professional Attributes β Inclusive, reflective, collaborative, and committed to continuous improvement, college values, and maintaining professional boundaries.
- Flexibility & Compliance β Enhanced DBS, willingness to travel across college sites, awareness of health and safety, and possession of a full driving licence with access to a vehicle.
