Role: Estates and Facilities Assistant
Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £25,467 and £28,482 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 27 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, People’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.
Hours/Weeks: 40 hours per week – 52 weeks per year
Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time

About The Role
- Facilities Operations & Site Services – Deliver a full range of estates services including security, maintenance, portering, cleaning and driving to ensure a safe, well‑maintained campus environment.
- Security, Safety & Compliance – Conduct site patrols, monitor CCTV, manage building access, perform ID checks and support fire, alarm and statutory compliance activities in line with policies and procedures.
- Maintenance & Grounds Upkeep – Undertake minor repairs, maintain buildings and equipment, manage grounds and external areas, and ensure safe access during adverse weather conditions.
- Portering, Logistics & Event Support – Provide portering services, manage deliveries, set up rooms, support events and respond to online service requests to meet operational needs.
- Professional Practice, Flexibility & Team Contribution – Work collaboratively across campuses, uphold safeguarding, EDI and health & safety standards, provide flexible cover (including weekends) and support wider college activities.
About You
- Experience, Training & Operational Readiness – Experience working with the public and young people, with willingness to undertake training and develop knowledge of health and safety and college procedures.
- Teamwork, Initiative & Problem Solving – Able to work independently and as part of a team, use initiative, follow procedures and contribute positively while resolving issues proactively.
- Communication, Behaviour Management & Professional Conduct – Confident in handling a wide range of situations, including de‑escalating challenging behaviour calmly, while maintaining professional relationships and boundaries.
- Reliability, Flexibility & Responsiveness – Reliable and punctual with a flexible approach to working patterns, including weekends and short‑notice availability to meet operational needs.
