About The Role
Painter and Decorator in the Estates and Facilities department of The Bedford College group.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high‑standard painting and decorating services across all sites, maintaining the aesthetic appeal of facilities.
- Conduct condition surveys, plan and organise works, prepare and apply materials, and ensure clean and safe work areas.
- Comply with Health and Safety regulations and promote workplace safety.
- Respond to emergencies, attend training events, and support team management and meetings at other campuses.
- Maintain professional development and uphold statutory duties, including safeguarding, equality and diversity.
About You
- Qualifications: Level 2 NVQ or Level 2 Apprenticeship, Asbestos Awareness, COSHH training, Emergency First Aid qualification.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of painting, familiarity with procedures and guidelines, basic DIY skills, experience working with young people.
- Skills: Organise workload, effective communication, IT skills, teamwork, initiative, positive relationships, self‑motivation, ability to work with diverse people.
- Attributes: Reliable, punctual, flexible, capable of working at all sites, full driving licence and vehicle access.
- Work Environment: Ability to work around young people and in diverse settings.
