Lecturer – SEND / SEMH
Central Bedfordshire College invites applications for a Lecturer – SEND / SEMH role in its Foundation Learning department. The position is based in the Houghton Learning Hub.
Location: Houghton Regis, Central Bedfordshire College – Houghton Learning Hub
Salary: £31,930 – £36,878 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. Contract: Permanent – Full Time.
About the role
We are currently seeking a Lecturer in SEND / SEMH to join our Foundation Learning department at The Bedford College Group.
As a Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

About you
- Qualified or progressing – Holds a recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, CertEd) or is currently working towards one.
- SEMH Experience – Brings experience supporting young people with SEMH needs or similar vulnerabilities.
- Curriculum Knowledge – Demonstrates strong understanding of Functional Skills and/or Employability programmes.
- Key Skills – Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal abilities.
- Inclusive Approach – Committed to delivering trauma‑informed, inclusive education.
