About The Role
We are seeking a Lecturer in Early Years to join the Health, Social Care and Childcare department. The primary focus is delivering engaging Early Years programmes, supporting student learning, and contributing to course development and quality processes.
Responsibilities
- Teaching & Student Support β Deliver engaging lessons across Early Years programmes and levels, provide tutorials, and support students to achieve their potential.
- Curriculum Development & Innovation β Prepare schemes of work, contribute to new course development, and integrate vocational opportunities to enhance employability.
- Assessment & Quality Assurance β Assess work to awarding body standards, monitor progress, maintain records, and participate in quality processes and course reviews.
- Collaboration & Professional Engagement β Work with colleagues, mentor staff, attend meetings, and support events such as open days and careers conventions.
- Safeguarding, Equality, Health & Safety β Uphold safeguarding and College values; participate in training and ensure actions reflect College policies.
About You / Qualifications
- Qualifications β Relevant subject qualification at least one level above the course taught and a recognised Level 5 teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, Cert Ed), with experience delivering T-Level Early Years programmes.
- Experience β Strong understanding of Early Years and Health & Social Care teaching, with recent experience in education and industry settings.
- Skills β Excellent classroom management, communication, organisation, prioritisation, and IT proficiency (Microsoft Office).
- Attributes β Able to work independently and in a team, manage workload, meet deadlines, and build professional relationships across the college.
- Safeguarding & Values β Works in line with College values and policies, including safeguarding, EDI, and health & safety, with flexibility to travel and adapt hours as needed.
