Location: Kettering, Tresham College – Kettering Campus

Salary & Benefits: £27,717 – £32,515 per annum (pro‑rate), subject to experience and qualifications. Includes People’s Pension, retail and leisure discounts, professional and personal development opportunities, and access to college courses.

Hours & Contract: 22.5 hours per week for 40 weeks per year. Permanent – Term / Part Time. Right to Work UK‑based contract. You must have the right to work in the UK. We do not offer sponsorship.

About the Role: Student Advisor in the Student Services department at Tresham College.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high‑quality, impartial careers advice and guidance, supporting students with progression, financial matters, wellbeing, and personal development through 1:1 and group sessions.
  • Design and implement a cross‑college careers programme, contributing to tutorials, higher education guidance, and initiatives that raise aspirations and measure impact.
  • Work closely with internal teams, external agencies, and stakeholders to provide integrated support services and ensure effective communication of opportunities and guidance.
  • Maintain accurate records, support bursary processes, contribute to enrolment and events, and deliver a professional, student‑focused service aligned with college standards.
  • Uphold safeguarding, equality and diversity, and health & safety policies, ensuring student welfare, accurate information, and continuous professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills – confident engagement with students and staff at all levels.
  • Organisational skills – strong administrative, planning, and organisational ability, attention to detail, and competence in writing formal/informal communications.
  • Experience working with young people and adults in diverse, customer‑focused environments, including delivering activities and events.
  • Technical & educational requirements – qualified in English and maths (Level 2), with a Level 3 relevant qualification, strong IT skills (Word, Excel, databases), and willingness to work towards Level 6 Careers guidance and mental health certification.
  • Self‑motivated, proactive, able to work independently or in teams, flexible to travel, good attendance, and committed to continuous development.
