Salary/Benefits: £27,717 to £32,515 per annum (DOE and Qualifications), 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays, People's Pension, retail and leisure discounts, professional and personal development opportunities, access to college courses.

Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

About The Role: We are currently seeking an Exams Officer to join our Examinations department at The Bedford College Group.

Essential Requirements:

  • UK based contract, and you are required to have the Right to Work in the UK. Unfortunately, we’re unable to offer sponsorship and any offer of employment will be subject to evidence of your Right to Work in the UK.

Responsibilities:

  • Examinations Administration & Delivery: Provide a comprehensive exams service, coordinating registrations, scheduling, and delivery of examinations across multiple sites in line with awarding body regulations.
  • Compliance & Process Management: Ensure all exam procedures, access arrangements, and documentation meet regulatory requirements, maintaining the integrity and security of examination materials.
  • Communication & Coordination: Liaise effectively with staff, students, awarding bodies, and invigilators, ensuring timely communication of exam details and resolution of any issues.
  • Results & Data Management: Manage the accurate processing and timely distribution of results and certificates, maintaining records and ensuring compliance with ILR data requirements.
  • Operational Support & Responsibilities: Support timetable planning, resource allocation, and general administration while upholding safeguarding, EDI, health & safety, and professional development standards.

About You:

  • Qualifications & Administrative Experience: GCSEs (including Maths and English) with strong office-based administrative experience, handling confidential information and supporting small projects.
  • IT & Data Management Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, with experience inputting and manipulating data accurately on computerised systems.
  • Organisation & Work Ethic: Highly organised with the ability to plan workloads, meet deadlines, maintain accuracy, and perform effectively under pressure.
  • Communication & Teamwork: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong customer service focus, and proven ability to work collaboratively with a proactive, "can do" attitude.
  • Flexibility & Professional Commitment: Willingness to travel between sites, work flexible hours, continuously develop skills, and contribute positively to departmental and organisational objectives.
