Salary: £23,557 to £26,754 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

Hours: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

Contract: Permanent – Full Time

Role Overview

Additional Learning Support Administrator in the Foundation Learning and Additional Learning Support department at The Bedford College Group, Kettering Campus.

Responsibilities

  • SEND Processes & Compliance – coordinate key SEND processes including support meetings, EHCP consultations and annual reviews, and exam access arrangements in line with statutory requirements.
  • Student Contact & Referrals – ensure timely contact with learners declaring additional needs, manage referrals from tutors, arrange support meetings and enable access to Additional Learning Support.
  • Advice, Guidance & Customer Service – act as a first point of contact for students and staff, providing clear advice on ALS provision and delivering a consistently high standard of customer service.
  • Administrative & Record Management – prepare and maintain accurate SEND documentation, learner files and records, support CogNassist processes, and ensure data is logged, tracked and filed correctly.
  • Teamwork, Safeguarding & Professional Standards – work collaboratively within the ALS team while upholding safeguarding, EDI, health & safety and training responsibilities in line with College policies.

Qualifications & Experience

  • GCSE English and maths (A–C/Grade 4+ or willingness to achieve Level 2), with a commitment to achieving Level 3 Business and ongoing skills development.
  • Minimum two years’ experience in a customer‑focused role, handling confidential information professionally and delivering high‑quality, welcoming support.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills, with strong ability to accurately record, track and retrieve data and documents across paper and digital systems.
  • Confident communicator across all channels, able to work independently and collaboratively, contribute positively to teams, and demonstrate College values including inclusivity and student‑centred practice.
  • Committed to safeguarding, health & safety and professional boundaries, adaptable to changing workloads, flexible in working times, and able to travel independently across College sites.
