Location: Central Bedfordshire College – Dunstable Kingsway Campus

Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £33,048 and £38,169 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 45 days annual leave plus bank holidays, teacher’s pension, retail and leisure discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses. Note – Salary and annual leave entitlement is for that of a qualified lecturer.

Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

About The Role

  • Teaching, Learning & English Delivery: Deliver high‑quality teaching across English programmes and levels, supporting learners to develop skills, confidence and achieve their potential.
  • Curriculum Planning & Innovative Practice: Plan and deliver engaging schemes of work and learning materials, contributing to curriculum development and innovative teaching approaches.
  • Assessment, Progress & Quality Assurance: Monitor learner progress, assess work to awarding body standards and implement timely interventions to support achievement and success.
  • Learner Support, Tutorials & Enrichment: Provide individual and group tutorial support, promote positive behaviour and enhance learning through enrichment and employer engagement activities.
  • Professional Practice, Collaboration & Compliance: Maintain accurate records, contribute to team meetings and events, and uphold safeguarding, EDI, health & safety and CPD responsibilities.

About You

  • Qualifications & Maths Teaching Expertise: Relevant degree or Level 5 qualification in Maths with GCSE English and Maths, supported by experience teaching and assessing GCSE Maths programmes.
  • Teaching, Learning & Student Achievement: Ability to deliver high‑quality, engaging teaching with strong classroom management, supporting learners to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Curriculum Knowledge & Continuous Development: Up‑to‑date subject knowledge with commitment to CPD, ensuring teaching reflects current developments and best practice.
  • Communication, Organisation & Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills, able to build relationships, meet deadlines and contribute effectively across teams.
  • Professional Values, Safeguarding & Flexibility: Committed to safeguarding, equality and College values, maintaining professionalism with flexibility to work across sites, adapt to change and support student success.
