About The Role:
We are currently seeking a Health & Social Care Lecturer to join the Health, Social Care & Childcare department at The Bedford College Group.
Responsibilities:
- Teaching & Curriculum Delivery: Effectively deliver Health & Social Care programmes across levels, planning engaging lessons and schemes of work that meet awarding body standards and support diverse learner needs.
- Assessment & Progress Monitoring: Assess, verify and provide constructive feedback, while tracking student progress and taking timely action to ensure achievement of targets and deadlines.
- Quality & Continuous Improvement: Contribute to internal quality assurance, curriculum planning and CPD, maintaining high standards of teaching, learning and sector knowledge.
- Employer Engagement & Student Experience: Build strong employer links, support industry placements and enrichment activities, and enhance learners’ vocational experience.
- Professional Practice & Compliance: Work collaboratively with colleagues, manage administrative duties, support college activities and uphold safeguarding, EDI, health & safety and professional standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Level 4+ in Health & Social Care with teaching/assessor qualifications (or willingness to achieve), strong GCSE Maths & English, and commitment to CPD, safeguarding, EDI and sector updates.
- Extensive experience within Health & Social Care and FE settings, with strong understanding of awarding bodies, T Levels, curriculum requirements and teaching diverse learners.
- Proven ability to plan and deliver high-quality lessons, assess and track student progress effectively, adapt teaching approaches and manage behaviour across varied learner needs.
- Strong organisational, communication and digital skills, with ability to engage stakeholders, meet deadlines, use technology to enhance learning and collaborate effectively with teams and employers.
- Student-centred, adaptable and resilient, committed to inclusive practice and college values, with flexibility to travel, work across sites and continuously evolve teaching practice.
