Position Details

  • Location: Tresham College – Corby Campus (Corby)
  • Salary & Benefits: Salary between £33,048 and £41,085 per annum (DOE and Qualifications), plus an additional Market Supplement depending on experience and qualifications. 35 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, Teacher's pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.
  • Hours: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year
  • Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time

About the Role

  • Apprenticeship Delivery & Learner Development: Support Electrical Engineering apprentices end‑to‑end, delivering training, assessment and coaching to develop knowledge, skills and behaviours for successful completion.
  • Workplace Assessment & Progress Monitoring: Conduct regular workplace reviews, set SMART targets and track learner progress, ensuring timely achievement against apprenticeship standards.
  • Employer Engagement & Stakeholder Collaboration: Build strong relationships with employers, tutors and support services, providing regular feedback and ensuring programmes meet industry and learner needs.
  • Quality Assurance, Compliance & Record Keeping: Maintain accurate e‑portfolio records, ensure compliance with funding rules and awarding body standards, and contribute to internal and external quality assurance processes.
  • Professional Practice, Mentoring & Safeguarding: Provide coaching and mentoring support, promote health & safety in the workplace, and uphold safeguarding, EDI and continuous professional development standards.

About You

  • Qualifications & Electrical Engineering Expertise: GCSEs (Level 2) with a Level 3 Engineering qualification, supported by recent industry experience and strong technical knowledge of electrical systems and disciplines.
  • Technical Skills & Practical Application: Hands‑on expertise in electrical maintenance, fault‑finding, control systems (DOL, Star‑Delta, VFDs), PLCs and interpretation of technical drawings.
  • Apprenticeship Support & Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to manage caseloads effectively, communicate with learners, employers and stakeholders, and provide consistent support to enhance learner outcomes.
  • Organisation, Initiative & Performance Delivery: Highly organised and proactive, able to manage workload and diary, work independently and meet demanding targets within a dynamic environment.
