Salary and Benefits

£33,048 to £38,169 per annum (depending on experience and qualifications). 45 days annual leave plus bank holidays, Teacher’s Pension, retail and leisure discounts, professional and personal development opportunities, access to college courses. (Salary and leave entitlement are for a Qualified Lecturer.)

37 hours per week, 52 weeks.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver high‑quality law courses, ensuring inclusive and engaging learning that meets awarding body standards and individual student needs.
  • Guide, mentor and monitor students through tutorials, assessment and feedback to support their success.
  • Design and assess work, track performance, maintain records and ensure compliance with quality standards, verification and moderation processes.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, course innovation, employer links and wider activities such as marketing events, open days and student recruitment.
  • Uphold college values, safeguarding and student experience, complete administrative duties, collaborate with colleagues, and support departmental and college‑wide initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in a relevant subject area, GCSE English and Maths (grade A‑C) and a certificate in education or equivalent as per the Statutory Instrument.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high‑quality learning experiences, support student progress, and contribute to curriculum development across FE levels.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills, ability to meet deadlines, work independently or collaboratively. Proficient in Microsoft Office and Teams.
  • Detail‑oriented, adaptable and resilient under pressure. Builds positive relationships, handles sensitive information confidentially and demonstrates leadership while aligning with organisational values such as equality, safeguarding and professionalism.
  • Flexible and mobile, able to travel across campuses and adapt working hours. Holds relevant training such as First Aid, safeguarding, EDI, ITQ and meets health and safety expectations.
