About The Role
We are currently seeking an Associate Invigilator to join our Examinations department at The Bedford College Group.
As an Invigilator, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
- Exam Conduct & Compliance – Administer examinations in strict accordance with Awarding Body and College regulations, ensuring all procedures are followed accurately and consistently.
- Security & Confidentiality – Maintain the security and confidentiality of exam materials and candidate information before, during, and after examinations.
- Candidate Management & Support – Prepare exam rooms, verify student identity, manage seating, and deliver access arrangements such as reading, scribing, or prompting as required.
- Monitoring & Reporting – Supervise candidates throughout the exam to prevent malpractice, make required announcements, and complete all necessary documentation and incident reports.
- Professional Standards & Development – Stay updated on invigilation regulations, uphold safeguarding, equality, and health and safety standards, and participate in relevant training and development.
About You
- Qualifications & Training – Holds or is working toward GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths, and has completed safeguarding, equality, and IT training (e.g. ECDL or ITQ Level 2).
- Experience & Knowledge – Brings experience in customer-focused and educational environments, understands invigilation responsibilities, and is proficient with Microsoft applications like Excel and Teams.
- Teamwork & Initiative – Demonstrates success working both independently and collaboratively, following procedures and contributing positively to team goals.
- Skills & Student Support – Offers excellent customer service, organisational skills, and the ability to create a welcoming, high-quality experience for students and stakeholders.
- Flexibility & Professionalism – Adapts to varied working hours and locations, communicates confidently face-to-face, and upholds the College’s values and professional standards.

What is an Associate?
Associates work on a short term basis as assigned. They teach or provide support services and they work with and are supported by core staff. As an Associate you will be issued with an Associate agreement, under this Agreement period you will be eligible to work on assignments offered to you. Typically an agreement runs from January to December and may be renewed thereafter.
