The Project Manager will take full responsibility for the end-to-end delivery of mechanical services projects across the South of England, with occasional nationwide travel. This role holds full accountability for programme delivery, commercial performance, health and safety compliance, and client satisfaction. Working closely with internal teams, supply chain partners, and customers, the Project Manager will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to specification. The role is critical in protecting margin, managing risk, and maintaining high standards of workmanship and customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Take full accountability for the planning, management, and delivery of multiple mechanical services projects from inception to completion.
- Deliver projects in line with CDM regulations, ensuring all statutory, commercial, and operational risks are identified and effectively managed.
- Embed QHSE policies and procedures across all projects, ensuring full compliance at all times.
- Manage subcontractors and suppliers, including procurement, onboarding, RAMS review, performance management, and valuation of accounts.
- Control all commercial aspects of projects, including cost reporting, variations, applications for payment, and final accounts.
- Manage project programmes, resources, and site activities, including attendance on site and out of hours works where required.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, building strong working relationships and ensuring customer acceptance criteria are met in writing.
- Prepare and submit RFIs, technical submissions, and project documentation in line with contract requirements.
- Ensure timely completion of handover documentation, including O&M manuals, certifications, and practical completion sign off.
- Maintain accurate project records and ensure all projects are delivered in line with company policies and procedures.
- Proven Project Management experience within mechanical services, M&E, construction, or FM environments.
- Strong commercial awareness with full P&L responsibility at project level.
- Solid understanding of construction health and safety legislation and CDM requirements.
- Ability to manage subcontractors, suppliers, and multiple stakeholders effectively.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present confidently to clients and internal teams.
- Ability to deliver projects to programme and budget in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel across the South of England, with occasional nationwide travel and overnight stays.
- Background in Plumbing and Heating or Ventilation.
- Recognised technical qualification in a mechanical discipline.
- Formal Project Management qualification.
- IOSH Managing Safely, SMSTS, or similar health and safety certification.
- Experience operating at a senior or lead Project Manager level.
- Salary up to £60,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
