Our client, a respected training provider within the Fire & Security sector, is seeking skilled engineers to step into a rewarding Tutor / Learner Skills Coach position based at their Dagenham training centre. This is an outstanding opportunity to move off the tools while remaining firmly embedded in the industry - shaping the next generation of engineers and supporting professional upskilling across the sector.
The Opportunity
This role offers the chance to deliver industry‑recognised and commercially focused training programmes to apprentices and experienced professionals. You'll combine classroom‑based teaching, practical workshop sessions and online delivery, helping learners develop both technical expertise and the wider skills needed for long‑term career success. Full training and funded teaching qualifications are provided, making this an ideal move for engineers looking to transition into education.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality, engaging training to apprentices and commercial learners
- Teach regulated qualifications and technical programmes aligned to current industry standards
- Provide structured feedback, coaching and ongoing learner support
- Maintain compliance with Government funding regulations, Ofsted and awarding body requirements
- Represent the organisation professionally when delivering training to external partners and clients
This is a role for someone passionate about developing others and committed to raising standards within the Fire & Security industry.
About You
We’re keen to speak with Fire & Security professionals who have:
- A minimum of 5 years' hands‑on experience in installation, commissioning and maintenance
- Strong technical knowledge and the confidence to demonstrate and explain industry best practice
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- A willingness to complete fully funded teaching and assessor qualifications
- Flexibility to travel and stay overnight occasionally (fully funded)
Desirable (but not essential)
- Industry certifications (e.g. FIA, FireQual, Milestone Advanced)
- Experience mentoring or supervising apprentices
- A Level 3 Award in Education and Training (or willingness to work towards it)
