We’re looking for a skilled Service Technician to join our clients team and cover Manchester. This role involves performing planned preventative maintenance on a portfolio of lift equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards. You’ll also focus on improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and performing minor repairs and component replacements. Participation in an on-call rota for out-of-hours maintenance and repairs is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs on lift equipment following approved procedures.
- Diagnose and resolve faults, ensuring equipment is fully operational.
- Perform checks on speed, motor start/stop, weight, noise, temperature, and power supplies using company-approved tools.
- Complete inspections and adjust equipment in line with procedures, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Undertake advanced fault-finding and diagnostics with the aid of technical manuals and test equipment.
- Carry out site surveys and participate in training to maintain up-to-date technical knowledge.
- Adhere to safety and environmental policies, maintaining compliance with UK regulations and company standards.
- Support safety objectives by monitoring and implementing safety system improvements where applicable.
Candidate Requirements:
- Experience in lift or escalator servicing, maintenance, or repairs (preferred).
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Lift/Escalator Maintenance (minimum).
- Advanced electrical and mechanical knowledge, with experience working on multi-brand equipment.
- Strong problem-solving, fault-finding, and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain efficiencies.
- Flexible and independent working style.
- Excellent communication skills with clients, service leaders, and inspectors.
- Manual dexterity for handling tools, lifting, and recording information.
- Strong administration skills and punctuality.
