We are looking for a technically strong and delivery-focused Project Engineer to join Centiel UK. This is a UK-based Hybrid role, combining office and home working, with frequent travel to customer sites across the UK. Candidates must already be based in the UK.
This position is accountable for:
- Ensuring a strong delivery-focused approach across all assigned projects, making sure that project commitments are translated into practical, achievable, and high-quality outcomes.
- Supporting structured project execution through effective planning, coordination, technical clarification, resource management, and communication with all relevant stakeholders.
- Ensuring that project-specific risks, technical issues, documentation requirements, site activities, subcontractor performance, and delivery milestones are monitored and managed effectively.
- Being the primary point of contact for clients throughout end-to-end project delivery.
- Acting as a technical advisor, providing guidance and support to customers on technical matters relating to project deliverables.
- Attending site surveys and project meetings with client representatives and specialist contractors, both on-site and remotely, to review and agree project scope, methodologies, site conditions, and readiness for UPS equipment integration.
- Taking ownership of technical aspects of assigned projects, ensuring that requirements are understood, clarified, documented, and followed through.
- Coordinating with specialist subcontractors to ensure effective integration between UPS equipment and site electrical systems, including switchgear, generators, SCADA, and BMS.
- Working closely with the projects team, suppliers, customers, installation teams, and field service teams to ensure alignment throughout the full project lifecycle.
- Taking ownership of technical issues arising during site activities, working collaboratively with the project team to ensure timely, safe, and effective resolution.
- Supporting successful project completion with a clear focus on customer satisfaction, quality, safety, and delivery performance.
- Producing detailed scope documents for specialist subcontractors to enable accurate pricing of site works, including UPS installation, specialist logistics, electrical installation, and other project-specific requirements where applicable.
- Providing clear and consistent communication regarding project programme, risks, delivery status, and technical issues.
- Supporting continuous improvement in project documentation, planning quality, communication routines, and delivery processes.
Qualifications, skills and experience:
- Previous experience in a project or technical role within the UPS, switchgear, IPS, generator, power protection, or similar electrical sectors.
- Technical qualifications in Electrical or Electronic Engineering at HNC, HND, or equivalent.
- Previous experience managing or coordinating projects from inception through to completion.
- Strong technical knowledge of UPS systems is preferred but not essential, together with a solid understanding of associated electrical installation requirements for critical power environments.
- Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills within an electrical or electronic engineering context.
- Commercial awareness and a good understanding of project delivery processes, outputs, costs, risks, and customer expectations.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook, with strong basic numeracy and literacy.
- Full valid UK driving licence.
