We're looking for a passionate and proactive People Advisor to join our Forest House team and help create an outstanding colleague experience from day one. About the Role

Please note this is a fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave from September 2026 until Friday 22nd October 2027. As a People Advisor, you'll be a trusted partner to our managers and teams, providing day-to-day HR guidance and helping to bring our culture and values to life. You'll play a key role in supporting employee engagement, wellbeing, and performance – ensuring our colleagues feel valued, supported, and inspired to be their best. Working closely with the Forest House HR Manager and the wider People team, you'll help deliver a consistent, high-quality people experience across the business.

What you'll be doing

  • Be the first point of contact for the Contact Centre and Forest House managers, providing practical, people-focused advice on recruitment, absence, performance and employee relations.
  • Build strong relationships with managers, gaining real insight into team dynamics, challenges and talent needs.
  • Support end-to-end recruitment, guiding managers through Dayforce, ensuring a smooth, fair and inclusive process and great candidate experience.
  • Deliver engaging and welcoming new starter inductions, creating a brilliant first impression and bringing our culture to life.
  • Analyse People data and metrics to identify trends, offering practical recommendations that support workforce planning and retention.
  • Champion Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and support wellbeing initiatives, working closely with Occupational Health where needed.
  • Support larger organisational change initiatives and wider People projects, identifying opportunities to improve processes and ways of working.
  • Take ownership of payroll processes, ensuring all changes are accurate, approved and processed on time. Work closely with the HR Manager, Chief People Officer and People Services team to ensure a smooth, compliant process.
  • Maintain and update payroll logs, supporting effective budget tracking and forecasting.

Your working hours

Please note this is a fixed-term contract until 22nd October 2027. You will be contracted to work 150 hours per 4-week period (37.5 hours per week). Normal working hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. However, dynamic working is available whereby the earliest start time is 7am and the latest finish time is 7pm. Please note, this role will be hybrid with 2 or 3 days in the office and 2 or 3 days home-working, dependent upon business requirements.
