We are seeking a proactive and commercially astute Employment Solicitor to join our People team, where you will act as a trusted partner to HR and senior leadership, providing pragmatic, solution-focused legal advice on a wide range of UK and Irish employment matters. This is a unique opportunity to influence strategic decision‐making across the business while playing a key role in managing employee relations, supporting policy development and ensuring compliance with employment legislation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide timely advice and support to HR and other colleagues on all employment‐related matters in the UK and Ireland, including performance management, grievances, disciplinaries, redundancies, sickness absence, complex investigations and day‐to‐day employee relations issues.
  • Draft, review, update and negotiate employment and legal documentation such as contracts, policies, templates, guidance, consultancy and settlement agreements.
  • Keep up to date with and assess the impact of legislative changes and legal developments, proposing relevant changes to policies and practices.
  • Participate in the creation and delivery of training and development on employment law topics to HR and other internal teams.
  • Support cross‐border projects and international work.
  • Manage the relationship with our external legal partners in the UK and Ireland.
  • Manage Employment litigation from start to finish, including advocacy at preliminary hearings where appropriate.
  • Be active in supporting the business on large‐scale projects with employment law implications, including major consultations and advise on organisational change (e.g., restructurings, redundancies, TUPE transfers, variations to terms and conditions) and prepare associated documentation.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Solicitor with a current practising certificate and at least 2 years PQE.
  • Specialist Employment Law experience and technical knowledge of UK employment tribunal practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable Requirements

  • 3+ years PQE.
  • 'In‐House' experience.
  • Relevant industry experience.
  • Experience of delivering training and development sessions.
  • Some experience of legal work in Ireland.
  • Advocacy experience.

This is a full‐time position with working patterns designed to support both our operational needs and your work‐life balance. Our team typically collaborates during core hours of 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Please note this role will be hybrid with usually 2 days in the office and 3 days home‐working. There will be some travel requirements with this role to Center Parcs sites around the country and to relevant tribunal hearing centres.
